Robin Roberts’ production recently secured the life rights to the legendary singer-songwriter, who died in February<\/p>\n
\n\tTwo Roberta Flack<\/a> film projects are in the works, with the production company headed by Good Morning America\u2019s Robin Roberts helping to spearhead both projects.<\/p>\n \n\tAs Deadline<\/a> reports, Roberts\u2019 Rock\u2019n Robin Productions recently secured Flack\u2019s life rights, and they\u2019re already planning a scripted biopic and a documentary project. Flack\u2019s longtime managers, Suzanne Mina Koga and Joan Martin, are also involved in the two projects.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tFlack died earlier this year<\/a> at the age of 88<\/a>, after being diagnosed with ALS<\/a> in 2022. She was best known for her massive hits, \u201cThe First Time Ever I Saw Your Face\u201d and \u201cKilling Me Softly With His Song,\u201d which earned her back-to-back Record of the Year wins at the Grammys in 1973 and 1974. She also often worked closely with her longtime friend Donny Hathaway and played a pivotal role in pioneering the quiet storm sub-genre of R&B.<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\tOn top of her memorable music, Flack was deeply involved in political movements of the post-Civil Rights era, befriending activists like Angela Davis and Rev. Jesse Jackson.
