Google says the tool acts like a dedicated researcher, as it can synthesize a detailed report or recommend relevant articles, papers, or websites.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deep Research can take your question, create a research plan, and then browse websites on your behalf. After a few minutes, it will present you with a source-grounded report that you can add directly into your notebook. While Deep Research runs in the background, you can continue to add other sources. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The idea behind Deep Research is to help you create a deep, organized knowledge base on a topic without having to leave your workflow. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"372\" width=\"680\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Screenshot-2025-11-13-at-10.40.46-AM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3067541\"  \/>Image Credits:Google<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can access Deep Research by starting a search in the source panel and selecting \u201cWeb\u201d as a source. Then, you can choose your research style. You can select \u201cDeep Research\u201d when you\u2019re looking for a full briefing and in-depth analysis. Or, you can choose \u201cFast Research\u201d if you want a quick search. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As for the additional support for more file types, you can now upload Google Sheets, Drive files as URLs, PDFs from Google Drive, and Microsoft Word Documents. Earlier this year, Google introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/29\/googles-notebooklm-rolls-out-video-overviews\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Video Overviews<\/a> to NotebookLM to allow users to\u00a0turn dense multimedia, such as raw notes, PDFs, and images, into digestible visual presentations. The addition builds on\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/04\/29\/googles-notebooklm-expands-its-ai-podcast-feature-to-more-languages\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Audio Overviews<\/a> feature, which generates an AI podcast based on documents shared with NotebookLM, such as course readings or legal briefs.
