This figure includes both sales from paid games and earnings from free-to-play games.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, 2024 was considered the record year for Steam. However, Alinea Analytics notes that the total game revenue in the store for all 12 months of that year was 5.7% lower than at present. By the end of December 2025, the gap is expected to widen even further.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, game revenue on Steam has been growing almost continuously over the last decade. If the analysts\u2019 data is to be believed, the only downturn occurred in 2022, when games generated about $12 billion.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"foobox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/vy-ruchka-igr-v-steam.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-235789\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/vy-ruchka-igr-v-steam.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Alinea Analytics also calculated that Valve itself earned over $4 billion in 2025 from game commissions on Steam and its own titles.
