Ink, the biographical drama starring Jack O’Connell and Claire Foy, has released its first-look image. From acclaimed director Danny Boyle, this real-life story could be a big hit when it releases next year. <\/p>\n

The upcoming film<\/a> is based on James Graham’s 2017 stage play of the same name, with the story focusing on editor Larry Lamb (O’Connell) and media mogul Rupert Murdoch (Guy Pearce) as they seek to relaunch The Sun newspaper.<\/p>\n

Featuring Foy as Jules Davies, the period drama sees Graham adapt his own source material for the screen, while Boyle serves as a producer alongside long-time collaborator Tessa Ross.<\/p>\n

The first image for the film sees O’Connell in the role of Larry, who initially served as an editor for the newspaper from 1969 to 1972. He returned in the role three years later, before departing again in 1981. <\/p>\n

As per the logline, Ink has been billed as an “explosive cinematic rollercoaster about a group of visionaries and misfits who had an idea for a new kind of news \u2013 one that would give the people what they want and would change the face of the world we live in today.”<\/p>\n

Filming has begun in London, with a release set to come next year. There is no exact date yet, though the unveiling of the first image suggests that it may not be too long before we get an update.<\/p>\n

The film is another collaboration between Boyle and O’Connell, with the pair having worked together on 28 Years Later earlier this year. O’Connell is returning for sequel<\/a> 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, where Boyle serves as a producer. <\/p>\n

Speaking about the next instalment<\/a> in the acclaimed post-apocalyptic franchise, O’Connell, who portrays Sir Jimmy Crystal<\/a>, teased: “This film is the weird, deranged cousin to 28 Years Later.<\/p>\n

“We see how much nature is the unstoppable force at the end of the day\u2026 I don’t think the infected are purely antagonists in our film. It definitely will make you consider that.”<\/p>\n

Ink has no release date. <\/p>\n

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 16 January 2026.<\/p>\n
