The actor said the encounter constituted a violation of Grande\u2019s personal boundaries, then shifted to the idea of parasocial relationships \u2014 situations in which someone forms a one-way emotional bond with a celebrity or fictional character simply through consuming their media, creating a feeling of closeness or friendship that isn\u2019t actually mutual.<\/p>\n
Bode then criticized people who fail to recognize personal boundaries when interacting with public figures. <\/p>\n

She went on to call the assailant a \u201cbad person\u201d for showing no remorse and emphasized that anyone experiencing an invasion of their space owes no one politeness. <\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think women, or really anybody, should be expected to move with grace or respond with kindness when they\u2019ve been violated in that way, and to expect that makes you a weirdo also,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe thing is, most of the time women within the public eye do respond with kindness because they know what the result is going to be if they don\u2019t,\u201d Bode continued. <\/p>\n
