{"id":143577,"date":"2025-11-16T22:56:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-16T22:56:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/143577\/"},"modified":"2025-11-16T22:56:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-16T22:56:11","slug":"all-the-glitz-and-glamour-from-the-2025-camogie-and-ladies-football-all-star-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/143577\/","title":{"rendered":"All the glitz and glamour from the 2025 Camogie and Ladies Football All-Star awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All-Ireland champions Galway were the major winners at PwC Camogie All-Stars with eight individual awards collected as well as the PwC GPA Player of the Year in Aoife Donohue and PwC Manager of the Year, Cathal Murray at Croke Park on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>Thirteen of the 15 All-Stars awarded went to the two teams that provided one of the greatest All-Ireland finals in living memory, with Cork\u2019s gallant bid to secure a famous three-in-a-row also recognised by the naming of five of their personnel on the team of the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Galway\u2019s Sarah Healy was named in goal in the team of the year while Dervla Higgins picked up her second All-Star award and was joined in the other corner by Shauna Healy, who made a spectacular return to the line-up this year after giving birth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Healy was winning her fifth All-Star while other Galwegians returning to the team were the aforementioned Sarah Healy (third award), Ailish O\u2019Reilly (wing-forward, sixth) and Niamh Mallon (corner-forward, second), but it was a first for Ciara Hickey, named at centre-back.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/4861374_10_articleinlinemobile_2828278-II_DC028254_20copy.jpg\" alt=\"The 2025 PwC Camogie Soaring Star team with Camogie Association Uachtaran Brian Molloy and PwC Markets Partner Marie Coady. Pic: \u00a9INPHO\/Dan Clohessy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Saoirse McCarthy\u2019s consistency has been outstanding as the former intermediate POTY was nominated for the senior award for the third year on the trot and the consummate athlete collected her fourth All-Star as one of the Rebel quintet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Ashling Thompson\u2019s selection for a fifth time ensured a repeat midfield pairing with Donohue from last year, while Libby Coppinger (full-back, third), last year\u2019s POTY Laura Hayes (wing-back, third) and Amy O\u2019Connor (corner-forward, fourth) completed the Rebel representation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Elsewhere Dublin\u2019s Hannah Tyrrell was named as the 2025 TG4 Senior Players\u2019 Player of the Year at the Bonnington Dublin Hotel on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The individual accolade capped a memorable night for the 35-year-old Na Fianna player, who also collected a third TG4 All-Star award to add to her previous successes in 2021 and 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Following their All-Ireland Senior Championship win, Tyrrell, who scored 6-28 in the series, announced her retirement from inter-county football.
