{"id":143748,"date":"2025-11-17T01:26:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-17T01:26:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/143748\/"},"modified":"2025-11-17T01:26:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-17T01:26:08","slug":"tom-cruise-and-debbie-allen-dance-ahead-of-governors-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/143748\/","title":{"rendered":"Tom Cruise and Debbie Allen Dance Ahead of Governors Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/tom-cruise\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tom-cruise\" data-tag=\"tom-cruise\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tom Cruise<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/debbie-allen\/\" id=\"auto-tag_debbie-allen\" data-tag=\"debbie-allen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Debbie Allen<\/a> didn\u2019t wait until Sunday night\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/governors-awards\/\" id=\"auto-tag_governors-awards\" data-tag=\"governors-awards\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Governors Awards<\/a> to celebrate their honorary Oscars.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe two were spotted hitting the dance floor at a party Saturday hosted by Allen at her Debbie Allen Dance Academy in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn a video posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DRG9-W1jhtQ\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Instagram<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/project-angel-food\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Project Angel Food<\/a> CEO Richard Ayoub, the \u201cTop Gun\u201d star is seen joining Allen for a spin as the deejay calls everyone to dance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tCruise and Allen were joined by Jenifer Lewis and Allen\u2019s sister Phylicia Rashad as they danced to \u201cCandy\u201d by Cameo and Maze &amp; Frankie Beverley\u2019s \u201cBefore I Let Go.\u201d The guest list also included Jennifer Hudson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tCruise and Allen will be presented with their statuettes during a ceremony Sunday night at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood. Production designer Wynn Thomas will also be honored. Dolly Parton will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. The country music legend is not expected to attend the festivities due to health issues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe recipients were announced in June. \u201cThis year\u2019s Governors Awards will celebrate four legendary individuals whose extraordinary careers and commitment to our filmmaking community continue to leave a lasting impact,\u201d then-Academy president Janet Yang said at the time. \u201cThe Academy\u2019s Board of Governors is honored to recognize these brilliant artists. Debbie Allen is a trailblazing choreographer and actor, whose work has captivated generations and crossed genres. Tom Cruise\u2019s incredible commitment to our filmmaking community, to the theatrical experience, and to the stunts community has inspired us all. Beloved performer Dolly Parton exemplifies the spirit of the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award through her unwavering dedication to charitable efforts.
