\n\tJoaquin Phoenix<\/a> and Rooney Mara<\/a> have come on board as executive producers of \u201cI\u2019m Glad You\u2019re Dead Now,\u201d which won Cannes Film Festival<\/a>\u2019s short film Palme d\u2019Or this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tPalestinian Tawfeek Barhom<\/a> directed, wrote and co-stars in the 13-minute drama, which is a co-production between Palestine, France and Greece. The film also stars Ashraf Barhom.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe story follows two brothers who return to the island of their childhood, where hidden tensions and long-buried secrets force them to confront a haunting past that binds them together.<\/p>\n

\n\tPhoenix said, \u201cThis is a film that confronts memory, trauma, and reconciliation in a way that feels urgent and necessary today. I\u2019m proud to be part of its future.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMara added, \u201cFrom the moment I saw \u2018I\u2019m Glad You\u2019re Dead Now,\u2019 its emotional weight and restrained power stayed with me. I am honored to support Tawfeek\u2019s vision and the film\u2019s continuing journey.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBarhom said, \u201cI am deeply moved that Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix have chosen to stand with this film and its story. Their belief honors the film\u2019s spirit, and their creative support will be invaluable as we take \u2018I\u2019m Glad You\u2019re Dead Now\u2019 to wider audiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe producers said Phoenix and Mara will \u201cparticipate in upcoming press, festival introductions, and strategic collaborations to ensure the film\u2019s continued impact and reach.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film is co-produced by France\u2019s Kidam and Greece\u2019s Foss Productions. Kidam is best known for \u201cZero F**** Given\u201d (Critics\u2019 Week, Cannes, 2021), starring Ad\u00e8le Exarchopoulos. Foss Productions has produced or co-produced many short and feature films, such as \u201cSuntan,\u201d \u201cPity\u201d and \u201cEchoes of the Past.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe producers are Tawfeek Barhom, Akis Polizos, Stylianos Kotionis and Alexandre Perrier.<\/p>\n
