Jordan<\/a> was asked his thoughts about former Rangers boss Philippe Clement<\/a> taking over at Norwich City today.<\/p>\n And in giving his opinion, Jordan strangely used two former Celtic managers as an example of how the SPFL standard is the same as the English Championship.<\/p>\n Scottish football fans and Celtic have had to put up with all sorts of nonsense being spoken about the standard of the Parkhead club and Scottish football.<\/p>\n And now, with Jordan, they have to listen to more of it.<\/p>\n Jordan said on talkSPORT, \u201cWell, perhaps it tells you that Scottish football is not far too far detached from the Championship level in people\u2019s minds.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re not going to get many times that you\u2019re going to see a manager, you\u2019ve seen two of them both of them come from Celtic to go into the Premier League.<\/p>\n \u201cBeing Brendan Rodgers going back to the Premier League with Leicester and, of course, Ange Postecoglou going from Celtic to Tottenham.\u201d<\/p>\n Very strange comment indeed from Jordan. So if the SPFL is Championship standard, how then have two former Celtic managers made the move to the Premier League?<\/p>\n How Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers did after leaving Celtic for the Premier League<\/p>\n The first of the two to move was, of course, Brendan Rodgers who won an FA Cup and a Community Shield during his time at Leicester.<\/p>\n Rodgers also took The Foxes to two top-five finishes in his first two seasons as the club, before finishing 8th in 2022 before he was sacked in 2023 leaving Leicester in the relegation zone.<\/p>\n Postecoglou\u2019s Premier League career started off on the same kind-of trajectory as Rodgers. A 5th-place finish in his first season was hailed as a success for the former Celtic man.<\/p>\n However, despite winning the Europa League, Spurs sacked Postecoglou as his poor domestic form left the London club rooted 17th in the league table.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Simon Jordan is a bit like marmite to the vast majority of Celtic supporters.
