{"id":147890,"date":"2025-11-19T07:58:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-19T07:58:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/147890\/"},"modified":"2025-11-19T07:58:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T07:58:07","slug":"tiktok-testing-ai-content-control-tool-for-users-in-feed-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/147890\/","title":{"rendered":"TikTok testing AI content control tool for users in feed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TikTok has announced it is testing a new tool that will allow users to manage how much AI-generated content (AIGC) they see in their feeds.<\/p>\n<p>The new content control setting was unveiled at the social media company&#8217;s European Trust and Safety Forum where it outlined the ways it is aiming to use technology to bolster user safety on the app.<\/p>\n<p>The event was held at its Dublin office and was attended by media, experts and creators from across Europe and the UK.<\/p>\n<p>The new AI control feature will allow users of the platform to choose a level of AIGC they want to see in their &#8216;For You\u2019 feeds ranging from &#8216;see less&#8217; to &#8216;see more&#8217;. There is no option to block AIGC altogether.<\/p>\n<p>Along with this new feature, TikTok also announced a $2m (\u20ac1.73m) fund for experts to create educational AI literacy content, and continued investment in AI labelling on the app.<\/p>\n<p>TikTok also introduced a new &#8216;Time and Wellbeing Space&#8217; that it says will &#8220;help people relax and build mindful digital habits&#8221; while using the app.<\/p>\n<p>Users can earn badges by engaging in &#8216;wellbeing missions&#8217; like not exceeding screen-time limits and for not scrolling at night.<\/p>\n<p>Concerns have previously been raised by researchers and advocacy groups <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rte.ie\/news\/2024\/0416\/1443894-harris-tik-tok\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">about young teens&#8217; mental health being negatively influenced by content on TikTok<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This update builds on our ongoing work to support the safety and wellbeing of the TikTok community, especially teens,&#8221; the platform said.<\/p>\n<p>It also said it is aiming to provide greater transparency on how it combats hate and violent content on the app.<\/p>\n<p>It revealed that more than 6.5m videos were removed from TikTok in the first half of this year for violating its rules, and it has taken down &#8220;more than 920 accounts dedicated to spreading hate&#8221;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"TikTok has announced it is testing a new tool that will allow users to manage how much AI-generated&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":147794,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[20],"tags":[220,218,219,61,60,80],"class_list":{"0":"post-147890","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-artificial-intelligence","8":"tag-ai","9":"tag-artificial-intelligence","10":"tag-artificialintelligence","11":"tag-ie","12":"tag-ireland","13":"tag-technology"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/147890","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=147890"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/147890\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/147794"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=147890"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=147890"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=147890"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
