The CMAs host delivered a folksy monologue highlighted by her memories of growing up in Baskin, Louisiana, capped by a musical medley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAlong with guests like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/keith-urban\/\" id=\"auto-tag_keith-urban\" data-tag=\"keith-urban\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Keith Urban<\/a>, Little Big Town, and Charlie Worsham, Wilson sang country hits like Chris Stapleton\u2019s \u201cWhite Horse\u201d and Little Big Town\u2019s \u201cGirl Crush,\u201d making her way through the crowd to often sing right in front of the artist who made the song famous. For \u201cRedneck Woman,\u201d she crooned to an excited Gretchen Wilson, during \u201cGunpowder &amp; Lead\u201d she shimmied with Miranda Lambert, and for \u201cA Bar Song (Tipsy)\u201d she twirled with Shaboozey. The medley concluded with a surprise appearance by Keith Urban, who played guitar and sang \u201cWhere the Blacktop Ends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWilson, one of the night\u2019s top nominees with six, tying Ella Langley and Megan Moroney, is the first woman to host the CMA Awards solo since Reba McEntire in 1991. Wilson expressed disbelief at that statistic during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/lainey-wilson-hosting-cma-awards-without-luke-bryan-1235442560\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recent appearance<\/a> on Rolling Stone\u2019s Nashville Now podcast. \u201cI looked it up too and I was like, there\u2019s no way. I let Reba know I was doing this and she was so excited,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cIt\u2019s been a long time since a woman has done it solo. I\u2019m glad they trust me.
