\n\tDwayne Johnson<\/a> and Emily Blunt<\/a> starred in 2021\u2019s Jungle Cruise<\/a>, and there were rumors that a sequel was in development.<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, in a new interview, the stars of the film based on the Disneyland attraction have seemingly confirmed that a follow-up might not be happening.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t think so,\u201d Johnson and Blunt told EW\u2019s The Awardist<\/a> podcast on the potential sequel.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Black Adam star added, \u201cI think when Disney came under new leadership, they just shifted coming out of COVID. COVID shifted our business in a lot of ways. I think they looked at that property and thought, we did it once, not sure if we should revisit it again. Despite whether or not our chemistry was great.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBlunt also added that \u201cthey did not want to set sail again, and that\u2019s fine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, is based on the Disney theme park attraction that opened in July 1955 at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Alongside Johnson and Blunt, the film also starred \u00c9dgar Ram\u00edrez, Jack Whitehall, Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti.<\/p>\n

\n\tJungle Cruise opened simultaneously in theaters and digitally on July 30, 2021. The film went on to gross over $220M with a reported budget of $200M.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film follows a captain of a small riverboat who takes a scientist and her brother through a jungle in search of the Tree of Life while competing against a German expedition and cursed conquistadores.<\/p>\n
