Coronation Street<\/a> and Emmerdale<\/a>‘s epic soap crossover Corriedale is getting closer \u2013 and show bosses have announced further details of the audience vote<\/a> which will help to determine what viewers see on screen. The shows are giving fans the chance to vote for which characters should interact when the special episode<\/a> airs in January.<\/p>\n

While the poll won’t open until next year, the four options are being filmed today.<\/p>\n

Appearing on ITV’s This Morning<\/a> today with soap expert Sharon Marshall, Emmerdale stars Emma Atkins (Charity Dingle), James Hooton (Sam Dingle) and Nicola Wheeler (Nicola King) all shared the gossip.<\/p>\n

Emma revealed that she’ll be filming a scene with Coronation Street’s Alison King, who plays fan favourite Carla Connor.<\/p>\n

“There’s a smidge of flirt but that’s all I can say,” Emma teased, before Nicola added: “It’s more than a smidge!”<\/p>\n

James announced that he’ll be shooting with Coronation Street’s Andy Whyment, aka Kirk Sutherland.<\/p>\n

“It’s going to be a meeting of two brain cells and that’s all I can tell you at this time,” James quipped. “It’s going to be a fascinating scene and I think you should all vote for it.”<\/p>\n

Nicola confirmed that she’ll be working with Corrie legend David Neilson, who plays Roy Cropper, so there’ll be a meeting of the caf\u00e9 owners if fans vote for it.<\/p>\n

Finally, it was also announced that option four will see Emmerdale’s Michael Parr (Ross Barton) and Coronation Street’s Kate Ford (Tracy McDonald) film together. <\/p>\n

Ross and Tracy are both known for being outspoken, but how would they get along together? Could there be fireworks \u2013 or passion?<\/p>\n

Sharon concluded: “Those are your options. Keep an eye on the socials \u2013 keep talking to the bosses on the socials because they have been listening to you on what you want to see.<\/p>\n

“They’re filming today so it’ll be about six weeks’ time \u2013 I think January 1 \u2013 you will have the chance to vote for which of those scenes you want to see go out.”<\/p>\n

Corriedale will air in early January, but exact storyline details are still being kept tightly under wraps by the producers.<\/p>\n
