BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 22. President of
\nIran Masoud Pezeshkian has signed a decree on implementing the law
\non the denomination of the country’s currency (rial), Trend<\/a> reports via the
\nIranian Presidential Administration.<\/p>\n

The Iranian President signed a decree on the implementation of
\nthe law of the Central Bank of Iran on the denomination of the
\ncurrency (deletion of four zeros from the national currency),
\nadopted by the Iranian Parliament on November 2 and approved by the
\nIranian Constitutional Council on November 5.<\/p>\n

To note, the law on the denomination of the currency in the
\nCentral Bank of Iran’s (CBI) code notes that the current 10,000
\nrials will be equal to one rial and 100 girans.<\/p>\n

Since it’s in parallel during the transition period, the Iranian
\ncurrency will be called “rial” and “current rial”. The process will
\ncontinue in this form for a maximum of three years. The process of
\ncollecting banknotes and coins will be carried out. After the end
\nof the mentioned three years, the Iranian currency will bear the
\nname “rial”.<\/p>\n

The CBI will take the necessary steps to initiate a transitional
\nperiod for the entry into force of this law within two years. It
\nwill make an official announcement regarding the entry into force
\nof the law.<\/p>\n

The regulations regarding the entry into force of this law shall
\nbe prepared by the CBI within three months.<\/p>\n
