Hugh Jackman has addressed the possibility of appearing in the upcoming Avengers<\/a> films, with the actor remaining coy on the subject. After reprising his role as Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine, could he do it again?<\/p>\n

The actor returned to his iconic role in the superhero film last year after a seven-year absence, bringing him back to the character that he first played in X-Men all the way back in 2000. <\/p>\n

Now, with Marvel<\/a> preparing for the fifth and sixth films – Doomsday and Secret Wars – in the Avengers franchise, there have been rumours that Jackman could appear in some capacity.<\/p>\n

“Maybe. I\u2019m never saying ‘never’ ever again,” said Jackman on The Graham Norton Show. “I did mean it until the day I changed my mind. I did mean it for quite a few years. I have done ten films now, so I think they have enough for an AI version of me!”<\/p>\n

Avengers: Doomsday<\/a>, which is due to be released next year, boasts a stacked cast including Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston and Ian McKellen.<\/p>\n

The plot, while largely under wraps, is said to be set 14 months after the events of Thunderbolts*, with the action following several groups of heroes as they attempt to take down Dr Doom (Downey Jr).<\/p>\n

While Jackman could potentially reprise his role as Wolverine, one X-Men<\/a> star who seemingly won’t be making an appearance is Famke Janssen<\/a>, with the actor saying she hasn’t been asked to return as Jean Grey after Marvel’s acquisition of the franchise. <\/p>\n

“[I have] never [been asked to return]. Never ever,” she said. “Every time I do an interview, it’s mentioned. It’s interesting. I didn’t realise that was such a big part. Every interview I do, that will come up. <\/p>\n

“I should be flattered, I suppose, that this character has resonated with people. It’s been so long, but it’s nice that people are still talking about her. I’m sure every single time there’s a new [film] that they’re doing, like Avengers: Doomsday, it’ll come up again.”<\/p>\n

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released on 18 December 2026.<\/p>\n
