Three people have died in two separate road crashes in counties Waterford and Antrim.<\/p>\n

A man and a woman were killed in a two-vehicle road collision at Glenavy, near Lisburn, in Co Antrim.<\/p>\n

They were in a Cupra car which collided with a Skoda car on Lurgan Road at around 6.25pm yesterday.<\/p>\n

A police spokesman said: “Our officers attended alongside emergency service partners, however the two occupants of the Cupra were pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n

“The driver of the Skoda was transferred to hospital for treatment to his injuries.”<\/p>\n

The Lurgan Road remains closed with diversions in place.<\/p>\n

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 1121.<\/p>\n

Separately, a pedestrian in his 40s has died after he was struck by a car in Waterford city<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Garda\u00ed said they were alerted to the incident on the R448 in Sallypark at around 2.10am this morning.<\/p>\n

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and a post mortem examination is due to take place.<\/p>\n

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was not injured in the incident.<\/p>\n
