When it comes to an ideal second-season return, you\u2019d be hard-pressed to find one more successful than that of ABC\u2019s High Potential<\/a>. After building a following during its 13-episode first season, the series came back full steam ahead on September 16 with its sophomore installment. In the two months since its Season 2 premiere, the title has raked in viewers left and right<\/a>, with the numbers on the debut episode up 300% from the day of its release. But, now, it seems like the tank on the Kaitlin Olson<\/a>-led procedural might be running dry. After weeks as part of the network\u2019s global Top 10, High Potential has officially fallen off the chart, replaced by other Disney+ favorites, including Ryan Murphy<\/a>\u2019s largely panned legal drama, All\u2019s Fair<\/a>.<\/p>\n

High Potential\u2019s tumble is one we certainly didn\u2019t see coming. It\u2019s been nearly one month since the seventh episode of Season 2<\/a> aired, which served as the show\u2019s precursor to the midseason break. In that month, with viewership numbers surging<\/a>, it felt like we\u2019d be well on our way through December before it would even so much as budge from a top spot on the streamer\u2019s sought-after list. At the same time, there are still several weeks before High Potential returns for the second half of episodes on January 6, meaning it may pop back up in the global Top 10 as audiences binge what they\u2019ve missed on both Disney+ and Hulu. One thing\u2019s for sure \u2014 this won\u2019t be the last time that the crime drama will grace the Top 10.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Next For \u2018High Potential\u2019?<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a lot to look forward to for fans of High Potential when the series makes its triumphant return in the new year. The creative team has perfectly queued up a new mystery and a new man in Morgan\u2019s (Olson) life, quickly replacing David Giuntoli\u2019s villainous Game Maker<\/a>, whose storyline wrapped up (at least for now) within the first few episodes<\/a>. With plenty of mystery surrounding the odd and increasingly suspicious disappearance of Morgan\u2019s first husband, Roman, that curious case has remained the show\u2019s steady heartbeat and one that every character is slowly but surely being dragged into. There\u2019s also much to be uncovered about the team\u2019s new captain, Steve Howey<\/a>\u2019s Nick Wagner, who is ruffling some feathers among Morgan and her peers.<\/p>\n
