Canadians who take ibuprofen may want to check if the brand that they buy has been affected by Health Canada\u2019s latest recall.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the agency issued a recall<\/a> of certain lots of Apotex Inc. Extra Strength Ibuprofen Liquid Gel Capsules.<\/p>\n

The alert says the recall is due to a \u201cpresence of cloudy capsules in affected lots due to crystallization of ibuprofen into the gelatin shell.\u201d<\/p>\n

The affected capsules contain 400mg of ibuprofen. The lot numbers include: 1570621, 1570621, and 1570623.<\/p>\n

If you think you\u2019ve taken the affected medication, Health Canada advises you to\u00a0\u201cconsult your health care professional if you have any health concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n

The recall is classified as a Type II, which means the use of, or exposure to, a product could cause \u201ctemporary adverse health consequences\u201d or \u201cwhere the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.\u201d<\/p>\n

Health Canada advises Canadians to first verify if they have the affected ibuprofen before consulting a healthcare provider, prior to discontinuing the use of the affected product, or for any health concerns.<\/p>\n

Lastly, Health Canada suggests Canadians report any health product-related side effects or any other complaints.<\/p>\n
