{"id":159252,"date":"2025-11-25T18:32:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T18:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/159252\/"},"modified":"2025-11-25T18:32:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T18:32:10","slug":"employee-dies-following-incident-at-tayto-plant-in-co-meath-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/159252\/","title":{"rendered":"Employee dies following incident at Tayto plant in Co Meath \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A person has died following an incident at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/tayto\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/tayto\">Tayto<\/a> plant in Ashbourne, Co <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/meath\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/meath\">Meath<\/a>, the company has said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The deceased was an employee of an independent potato supplier and died after a fatal incident at the Tayto premises on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\">Garda\u00ed<\/a> and the emergency services attended the scene promptly, the company said, but did not give any further details.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Tayto has a large plant in Ashbourne that, according to its website, covers almost two acres.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cIt is with profound shock and sadness that Tayto Snacks Ltd confirms that a fatal incident involving an employee of an independent potato supplier occurred at our Ashbourne, Co Meath site this morning,\u201d the company said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cWe will also be working closely with all parties including the Health &amp; Safety Authority.
