The third installment in the <a class=\"ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0084827\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tron<\/a> saga flopped hard at the box office, with a worldwide total of $142 million, against a production budget of $180 million (via <a class=\"ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/company\/co1123259\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Numbers<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>So, its worldwide earnings only amounted to 0.8 times its production budget, and the film became a box office disappointment despite viewers having high expectations.
