They also built a digital, full-scale animation of that tondo so you can peer beneath the surface, tracking Lippi\u2019s artistic decisions \u2014 underdrawing, brushstrokes, corrections \u2014 like you\u2019re watching a painter build a masterpiece in real time.<\/p>\n
It is more than a show about Lippi; it comes across as a dialogue between ancient Roman sculpture, architecture and Lippi\u2019s own imagination, laid out so clearly you can feel his fascination with antiquity.<\/p>\n
After his Roman period, you can trace how that influence rippled back into his later Florentine works \u2014 the influence sticks, it evolves.<\/p>\n
