The\u00a0prestigious MAMA Awards\u00a0are set to take place in\u00a0Hong Kong<\/a>\u00a0on 28 and 29 November, and 2025\u2019s edition promises an exhilarating lineup of performers and nominees, as well as a few things we\u2019ve never seen before on a MAMA stage.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth noting that there has been some uncertainty about how the MAMA Awards ceremony will proceed this week, following the recent catastrophic fires in Hong Kong. While there is a possibility that the ceremony will be pre-recorded out of respect, the evening will no doubt present a chance for the industry\u2019s top talents to come together in a tribute to the city\u2019s resilience. The list of performers for the 2025 MAMA Awards is stacked with talent, blending both familiar faces like\u00a0Enhypen\u00a0and\u00a0Meovv\u00a0with\u00a0exciting newcomers\u00a0like boy group Alpha Drive One.<\/p>\n

While superstar groups like\u00a0Stray Kids<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Aespa<\/a>\u00a0are sure to own the stage, our prediction for the buzziest performance at this year\u2019s MAMA Awards goes to a blend of groups that has never before performed together. In a tribute to the year\u2019s\u00a0biggest K-pop phenomenon<\/a>, the MAMA Awards are bringing together members of Babymonster, Zerobaseone, Boynextdoor, and Riize to recreate an epic showdown from the global hit\u00a0K-pop Demon Hunters<\/a>. Pharita, Ahyeon, and Rora from Babymonster will perform as demon-hunting girl group Huntrix, with their concept titled\u00a0Gonna Be Golden\u2014which should give you a little hint as to which viral hit they might be singing. Playing the devilishly charming Saja Boys are a blend of male idols from different groups, including Zerobaseone\u2019s Park Gun-wook and Han Yu-jin, Boynextdoor\u2019s Leehan, Riize\u2019s Wonbin, and TWS\u2019s Shinyu. The boys\u2019 concept is titled\u00a0I\u2019ll Be Your Idol, suggesting that the Saja Boys\u2019 eerily catchy song\u00a0Your Idol\u00a0will play a starring role.<\/p>\n

K-pop fans are famed for their unwavering, fervent support of their favourite idols, so we can expect that the results of the evening\u2019s\u00a0awards categories\u00a0are going to be as closely anticipated as the thrilling performances, if not more so. This year\u2019s nominees are as exciting as ever, featuring high-profile industry giants like BTS and\u00a0Blackpink<\/a>, as well as rookie names like the co-ed\u00a0Allday Project\u00a0and boy group\u00a0Cortis. The most prestigious awards of the evening are the four that fall in the Grand Prize, or Daesang, category, which includes Fan\u2019s Choice of The Year, Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.
