An Australian rock icon cut a very casual figure when he stepped out in Sydney<\/a> this week.<\/p>\n

Legendary AC\/DC guitarist Angus Young was taking a well-earned break from the band’s Australian tour on Friday with his wife of 45 years Ellen van Lochem.<\/p>\n

The couple were out and about to enjoy some yum-cha, and Angus, 70, looked a far cry from his on-stage schoolboy persona.<\/p>\n

The Thunderstruck rocker wore a light grey T-shirt and a pair of form-fitting light blue jeans<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He finished the casual look with a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers, leaving his long, silver mane to blow in the breeze.<\/p>\n

Wife Ellen, meanwhile, put on quite the colourful display in an abstract-patterned dress in pink, blue and purple tones.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

After two massive shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, AC\/DC were hailed ‘hometown heroes’ when they rolled into Sydney last week.<\/p>\n

They did it in fine style, too \u2013 with a gigantic 21-song setlist that included some of their most iconic tracks.<\/p>\n

Opening the set with their 1978 classic If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It), the band held an adoring crowd at Accor Stadium in the palm of its hand until the two-song encore of T.N.T. and the triumphant For Those About to Rock We Salute You.<\/p>\n

Angus was a picture of energy and rock and roll swagger as he commanded the stage with his iconic strut.<\/p>\n

Ever the schoolboy, Angus also wore his trademark uniform, this time swapping the bright red shorts and blazer he had worn for the first Melbourne show for a deep purple tone.<\/p>\n

He added a pop of colour to his trademark outfit by donning a bright yellow schoolboy cap emblazoned with a large ‘A’.<\/p>\n

Expertly slinging a black Gibson SG guitar, Angus looked in his element, running around the stage with abandon.<\/p>\n

The fans looked to be lapping up every second of the powerhouse performance, too.<\/p>\n

Photos showed an ecstatic crowd beaming with pure rock and roll glee as they took in the triumphant set, many wearing AC\/DC-branded devil horns.<\/p>\n

The show elicited a flurry of excitement from fans on social media, too.<\/p>\n

The band shared a ‘thank you, Sydney’ post to Instagram after the show, which was met with a swarm of reciprocated love.<\/p>\n

Married At First Sight star Dean Wells offered a gushing: ‘Outta control! Still the best rock band of all time.’<\/p>\n

Dean also took to his own Instagram to document the gig, and continued to gush about the iconic rockers.<\/p>\n

‘This has got to be the toughest generation in history,’ he wrote over a clip of Angus.<\/p>\n

‘Every song is about either fighting or war and, at 70 years old, these guys still kick a** over all modern music.’<\/p>\n

Another fan echoed Dean’s sentiment, saying the band put on a show that belied their age.<\/p>\n

‘Thankyou hometown heroes. The local lads were unbelievable,’ the fan gushed.<\/p>\n

‘Brian sounded like he did 20 yrs ago & Angus puts any musician to shame with his energy. He runs, struts, and jumps for 2 hrs playing incredible solos.’<\/p>\n

A third agreed wholeheartedly with: ‘Brian is absolutely killing it. He can run rings around guys half his age.’<\/p>\n

The iconic Australian rockers are midway through the Down Under leg of their world Power Up tour.<\/p>\n

Now mid-way through the Down Under leg of their global Power Up tour, AC\/DC will play the bp Adelaide Grand Final on Sunday before heading to Perth’s Optus Stadium on December 4 and 8.<\/p>\n
