Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures<\/a> debuted the third full promotional video and second visual for the television\u00a0anime<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0Sou Akaike<\/a>‘s Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord: Production Magic Turns a Nameless Village into the Strongest Fortified City<\/a>\u00a0(Okiraku Ry\u014dshu no Tanoshii Ry\u014dchi B\u014dei<\/a>) light novel series on Sunday.\u00a0The video announces more cast and staff members plus the January 7 streaming premiere for the anime, and it also announces and previews the ending theme song “Make it” by Nonoka \u014cbuchi<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The newly announced cast members are:<\/p>\n

\nMakoto Furukawa<\/a> as Ortho Sheet, the leader of a party hired to escort to a town on the borderlandsWakana Kuramochi<\/a> as Purriel, a member of Ortho’s party
\nMotoaki Sat\u014d<\/a> as Xara, a member of Ortho’s party<\/p>\n

Nonoka \u014cbuchi as Lada Priora, a half-fish\/half-human living in the town on the borderlands \u00a0<\/p>\n

Takayuki Kuriyama<\/a> is serving as the anime’s series director and supervisor, and Shingo Nakamura<\/a> (animation director on Angolmois: Record of Mongol Invasion<\/a>, Food Wars! The Second Plate<\/a>) is designing the characters.<\/p>\n

The series will premiere via streaming on Amazon Prime Video<\/a> in Japan on January 7, 2026 at 10:00 p.m. (8:00 a.m. EST), before running on the Tokyo MX<\/a> and BS11<\/a> channels on January 10 at 10:00 p.m. (8:00 a.m. EST). It will also run on the Sun TV<\/a>, AT-X<\/a>, and Tochigi TV<\/a> channels, as well as on other streaming services after broadcast.<\/p>\n

The anime stars\u00a0Yumi Uchiyama<\/a> as protagonist Van, a Japanese salaryman reincarnated into an aristocratic family and is known as a child prodigy. M.A.O<\/a> voices Till, Van’s personal maid. Mariya Ise<\/a> plays Khamsin, a person deeply loyal to Van after he saved his life.<\/p>\n

The other cast members include:<\/p>\n

Tetsuya Tatamitani<\/a> (Africa Salaryman<\/a>, Thermae Romae Novae<\/a>) is directing the anime at NAZ<\/a>. Yutaka Yasunaga<\/a> (Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon<\/a>, Pet<\/a>, ERASED<\/a> episode scripts) is in charge of the series scripts, and Kana Utatane<\/a> (Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill<\/a> two seasons, Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!<\/a>) is composing the music. Flying Dog<\/a> is in charge of music production.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Rei Nakashima<\/a> performs the opening theme song “Okirakuze~shon.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Seven Seas<\/a> licensed the novel series’ manga adaptation by Maro Aoiro<\/a>, and it describes the story:<\/p>\n

Van, the fourth son of a powerful noble, is only two years old when he remembers his past life as a salaryman in Japan. With his adult brain in a young body, he’s considered a child prodigy…until he displays the \u201cProduction Magic\u201d skill when he turns eight. In a family that favors offensive magic, this crafting skill is considered useless in battle, and Van is banished to oversee a tiny country town in disgrace. With only his personal maid, the memories of his past life, and his \u201cworthless\u201d magic, can Van improve the fortunes of this little village\u2014and himself?<\/p>\n

Akaike first released the story on the Sh\u014dsetsuka ni Nar\u014d website on May 15, 2020, and\u00a0Overlap Bunko started publishing the light novel series with illustrations by Kururi<\/a>\u00a0in September 2021. The eighth volume shipped on August 25.\u00a0Aoiro began the manga on Overlap’s\u00a0Comic Gardo<\/a> website February 2022. The manga’s seventh compiled book volume shipped in Japan on April 25. The franchise has over 2.5 million copies in circulation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
