\n\tKelly Clarkson<\/a> has officially joined Spotify<\/a>\u2019s Billions Club.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 43-year-old pop superstar and talk show host earned her place in the streaming<\/a> service\u2019s elite circle<\/a> as her hit \u201cSince U Been Gone\u201d became her first song to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe pop-rock anthem was released as the second single from Clarkson\u2019s 2004 album, Breakaway, and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart the following year.<\/p>\n

\n\tWritten and produced by Max Martin and Dr. Luke, \u201cSince U Been Gone\u201d won a Grammy Award in 2006 for best female pop vocal performance. Its music video also earned two MTV Video Music Awards in 2005 for best female video and best pop video.<\/p>\n

\n\tReflecting on the song in a 2020 interview<\/a> with Apple Music, the American Idol alum said, \u201cI love what the song does for people, I love that it was very different in demo form sent to me. Behind the scenes, it was not so fun to record because of situations I won\u2019t talk about, because I won\u2019t sell people out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe added, \u201cBut I will say, my favorite memory, if I\u2019m being more positive about it, was the fact that I got to show up to a video shoot and completely trash an apartment, and that was my job. That video was possibly one of my favorite videos ever to make, because literally I just got to just have rage, and just break stuff all day long.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile \u201cSince U Been Gone\u201d may be Clarkson\u2019s only song in Spotify\u2019s Billions Club, several of her other popular tracks aren\u2019t far behind. \u201cUnderneath the Tree\u201d had around 870 million streams at press time, while \u201cBecause of You\u201d and \u201cStronger (What Doesn\u2019t Kill You)\u201d have each hit more than 800 million streams.<\/p>\n
