Patrick Kielty has made a rare family life admission after his split from wife Cat Deeley<\/a> earlier this year. The Late Late Show host, 54, and This Morning<\/a> star Cat, 49, tied the knot back in 2012 but announced they were going their separate ways in a joint statement in July 2025 \u2013 but that they would continue to co-parent their children.<\/a><\/p>\n

Patrick and Cat share sons Milo, nine, and James, seven. They announced in their statement: \u201cWe have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved. We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.”<\/a><\/p>\n

Now Patrick has made a rare admission about his kids<\/a> while promoting The Toy Show, which he presents annually on RT\u00c9 One.<\/p>\n

He told Sunday World: \u201cOur pair are seven and nine, so they are absolute Toy Show fanatics.\u201d Speaking of the 2024 edition \u2013 which saw Olympians Phil Healy and Sharlene Mawdsley perform a trolley dash around a closed Smyths Toys shop, he added: \u201cThey were like, \u2018They opened that for you?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve this year started trying to guess the theme as well, so there\u2019s been a bit of fun and games in that one. I haven\u2019t broke\u2026 yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

He echoed to the Sunday Independent: \u201cI think the magic of the Toy Show is kids being able to see people doing things they’d never be able to do – and whether that’s meeting a hero of theirs, or doing a raid on a closed toy store, that stuff still blows their mind.\u201d<\/p>\n

Discussing his parenting style, Patrick added: \u201cYou see parents who give their kids a phone for 20 minutes so they can have their meal in peace, and then we wonder why those kids want a phone again later?<\/p>\n

“We, as adults, are still struggling around the fact that people are living on two or more screens at once, but kids don’t care.
