A man was fatally injured in Tourmakeady on Saturday last.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred at an Uisce Eireann water infrastructure construction site<\/p>\n
The Health and Safety Authority says it is aware of the fatal incident and has launched an investigation .<\/p>\n
It\u2019s believed the man who died was a native of county Galway. His name has not been released.<\/p>\n
In a statement this afternoon to Midwest News Uisce Eireann says \u201cIt is with deep regret and sadness that Uisce \u00c9ireann confirms that a man working on behalf of our contractor, at a water infrastructure construction site in Co. Mayo has passed away, following a workplace accident on Saturday, the 29th of November.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, work colleagues, and friends of the deceased at this very difficult time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
