The Garda\u00ed are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal road traffic accident that occurred in the south east this morning, Monday, December 1.<\/p>\n
The single-vehicle accident involved a motorcyclist and it occurred in the Barntown area of County Wexford.<\/p>\n
In a statement a spokesperson for the Garda\u00ed issued an appeal for witnesses and said: ‘Garda\u00ed are appealing for witnesses following a fatal single-vehicle road traffic collision on the R738 at Growtown Upper, Barntown, Co. Wexford, that occurred today, Monday, 1st December 2025.’<\/p>\n
‘The collision, involving a motorcycle, occurred at approximately 6.20am,’ added the spokesperson in the statement.<\/p>\n
The motorcyclist, a male aged in his 30\u2019s, was pronounced deceased at the scene and the coroner has been notified.<\/p>\n
No other injuries were reported at the time.<\/p>\n
The R738 is currently closed pending technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.<\/p>\n
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 6.00am and 6.30am on Monday, December 1, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
