Some traffic restrictions will be in place around Dublin as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky<\/a> arrives for a visit to Ireland.<\/p>\n

The President of Ukraine will arrive and depart at Dublin Airport<\/a> for his Irish visit, and while normal operations will continue at the airport at all times, travelling members of the public are advised to allow additional time to arrive at the airport due to possible rolling road closures, particularly on the evening of Tuesday, December 2.<\/p>\n

The visit will be concentrated in Dublin City throughout Tuesday. In general, traffic restrictions for the visit will be kept to the minimum required and it is intended that any impact on the public will be localised and minimal.<\/p>\n

The following Traffic Management measures, for security reasons, will be put in place:<\/p>\n

Traffic restrictions will be in place on Chesterfield Avenue, Phoenix Park from approximately 10am until approximately 1pm.Traffic restrictions will be in place on Kildare Street, Merrion Street, Merrion Square and the vicinity of Government Buildings and Leinster House from 11am.Traffic restrictions will be in place on Stephens Green South, Stephens Green East and Leeson Street from 3:30pmUkraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky. However, the public can also expect localised road closures to facilitate events and temporary rolling road closures to facilitate security escorts over the course of Tuesday in the Dublin Region, particularly in the City Centre.<\/p>\n

A Garda spokesperson said: \u201cAn Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na<\/a> is working to ensure that the nature and scale of our policing and security operation continues to be proportionate to the need to protect everyone\u2019s safety.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur objective is to continue to share as much information with the public where necessary as soon as we are in a position to do so. We would ask members of the public to heed the advice and instructions of Garda\u00ed and we thank them for their continuing co-operation.<\/p>\n

\u201cMembers of the public travelling in the affected areas of Dublin (Phoenix Park\/ South City Centre) on 2 December are asked to plan their journeys during this period to ensure to leave enough time for possible traffic disruptions and to expect some localised delays.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na has and continues to liaise with business and local residents in the key locations and will continue to communicate directly with them during the visit. An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na continues to engage with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and Public Transport Providers to minimise disruption to the Public Transport Network.\u201d<\/p>\n
