\u201cMy first date with Colin, honestly, nobody ever really asked me out before,\u201d Johansson recalled, noting that she had minimal dating experience when she met Jost because she had been a \u201cserial monogamist\u201d before they crossed paths. <\/p>\n
\u201cI just never got the traditional, \u2018Hey, would you like to have dinner sometime?\u2019\u201d she explained. <\/p>\n
The Marvel star shared that she and Jost went to an Italian restaurant in New York for their first date, and while the evening kicked off on a good note, things went left later in the evening. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a lovely date,\u201d she said. \u201cWe had dinner at, like, 8 p.m. or whatever, and then afterwards he was like, \u2018I would love to, you know, I\u2019m meeting friends. Let\u2019s go grab a drink.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Apparently caught off guard by Jost\u2019s suggestion, Johansson decided to call it a night instead of extending their date. <\/p>\n
\u201cI hadn\u2019t dated basically ever and so I was just like, \u2018I\u2019ve got to go now. I need to leave,\u2019\u201d she remembered. \u201cAnd I got home to relieve my babysitter, and it was like 9:36 p.m., and she was like, \u2018Why are you home?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Johansson explained to her confused babysitter that she wrapped the night up early because she \u201cfelt so flustered\u201d by Jost\u2019s offer to hang out further.<\/p>\n
While the couple moved on from the actor\u2019s awkward departure, she noted that her behavior had thrown Jost for a loop. <\/p>\n
\u201cLater on he was like, \u2018I totally thought that was it. You were acting so weird,\u2019\u201d Johansson said. \u201cI panicked. I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jost and Johansson first started dating in 2017, though they first met on the set of \u201cSNL<\/a>\u201d when she hosted the sketch show in 2006. They tied the knot<\/a> in 2020. The \u201cLucy\u201d actor was previously married to actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011 and journalist Romain Dauriac from 2014 to 2017. <\/p>\n The \u201cWeekend Update\u201d co-host and Johansson welcomed their first child together in August 2021.
