Gary Neville couldn\u2019t get enough of Jaka Bijol\u2019s goal and attacking prowess against Chelsea.<\/p>\n
Leeds faced Chelsea<\/a> at Elland Road on Wednesday and three points were crucial in the Whites\u2019 aspirations of staying up.<\/p>\n It has been suggested that Daniel Farke could be sacked by Leeds<\/a> if the Peacocks were to lose their next two games, making a win against the Blues seem crucial.<\/p>\n Bijol<\/a> opened the scoring for Leeds in the sixth minute, and Neville<\/a> was impressed by the centre-back\u2019s \u201cbrilliant\u201d performance.<\/p>\n Bijol has struggled for game time at Leeds<\/a> in the early stages of the season, but the Slovenian repaid Farke\u2019s trust with a goal that put Leeds<\/a> ahead at a vital time in the clash.<\/p>\n The Whites were piling the pressure on Chelsea in the first few minutes, and after coming close to scoring from multiple throw-ins, Bijol got his goal from a corner.<\/p>\n Bijol scored his first-ever goal for Leeds against ChelseaHe scored twice for Udinese last seasonThe goal came after an Anton Stach corner<\/p>\n Anton Stach\u2019s corner fell straight on the head of Bijol, who got himself in front of Trevoh Chalobah to power past Robert Sanchez in goal.<\/p>\n While commentating on Sky Sports Premier League, Neville highlighted exactly why Bijol\u2019s goal was coming, despite only a few minutes of the game having been played.<\/p>\n Neville said: \u201cWell, he\u2019s already done it on two throw-ins, Bijol. He\u2019s made great runs, really direct, fast runs. He gets right in front of Chalobah. It\u2019s a brilliant run; Leeds have been brilliant. Keeper had no chance.\u201d<\/p>\n Now, everyone from a Leeds perspective will be hoping that the defender can kick on, and continue to improve.<\/p>\n Bijol has left an impression on Daniel Farke<\/p>\n It was never going to be easy for Bijol to break into Leeds\u2019 backline straight away, considering how solid it was in the Championship last campaign.<\/p>\n However, the 6,3\u2033 Serbian must have impressed Farke at Thorp Arch to have been given this recent run of games in the side.<\/p>\n Leeds are a threat from set-pieces and have been trying to make the most of the opportunities to score from them.<\/p>\n It seems like Bijol is another weapon for the Whites, and it would be hard to see the defender dropped in teamsheets from here on out.<\/p>\n Enjoyed this article?
