Kadokawa<\/a> unveiled a new promotional video for\u00a0the television anime<\/a> of Punichan<\/a>‘s The Villainess Is Adored by the Prince of the Neighbor Kingdom<\/a> (Akuyaku Reij\u014d wa Ringoku no \u014ctaishi ni Dekiai Sareru) light novel series on Thursday. The video reveals more cast, the theme song artists, and the January 11 premiere date for the anime.<\/p>\n

\nThe new cast members include:<\/p>\n

Marina Yamada<\/a> as Icillia<\/p>\n

Junichi Suwabe<\/a> as Keith<\/p>\n

Hikaru Midorikawa<\/a> as Crail<\/p>\n

\"claire.png\"<\/p>\n

Ai Furihata<\/a> as Pearl<\/p>\n

These new cast members are all reprising their roles from the light novel series’\u00a0otome game adaptation.<\/p>\n

Ayahi Takagaki<\/a> and Yuu Shirota<\/a> are performing both the opening theme song “Ai no Fanfare” (Love’s Fanfare) and the ending theme song “Mah\u014d no Oto” (The Magical Sound).<\/p>\n

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX<\/a> on January 11, and will also stream on d Anime Store<\/a>, U-NEXT<\/a>, and Anime H\u014ddai<\/a> on January 11. It will premiere on KBS Kyoto<\/a>, Sun TV<\/a>, and BS NTV<\/a> on January 12.<\/p>\n

The cast are reprising their roles from the light novel series’ otome game adaptation.<\/p>\n

Takayuki Hamana<\/a> (Ace of Diamond<\/a>, The Prince of Tennis<\/a>, The Witch and the Beast<\/a>) is directing the anime at Studio DEEN<\/a>. Yoshimi Narita<\/a> (Twilight Out of Focus<\/a>, Beet the Vandel Buster<\/a>) is in charge of series scripts, and Majiro<\/a> (22\/7<\/a>, Barakamon<\/a>, Macross Delta<\/a>) is designing the characters.<\/p>\n

The romance story follows a protagonist who is reincarnated as Tiararose, the villainess of the protagonist’s favorite otome romance game aimed at female gamers. The protagonist is resigned to accepting the in-game judgment event and the fate that awaits her. However, just as her fianc\u00e9 breaks off their engagement, the game throws up a marriage proposal event that wasn’t in the game’s original scenario \u2014 from Aquasteed, the crown prince of the neighboring country.<\/p>\n

Punichan first began serializing the story on the Sh\u014dsetsuka ni Nar\u014d service in 2016. B’s-Log Bunko has added illustrations by Akeno Naruse<\/a> and published 14 volumes of the light novel series, which has over 5.6 million copies in circulation. Kadokawa’s B’s-LOG COMIC<\/a> is serializing a manga adaptation by Hoshina<\/a>, and its 16th compiled book volume shipped on September 1. The light novel series also has a two-volume spinoff series, and a three-volume manga adaptation of that spinoff.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The story inspired a real otome game by OperaHouse<\/a> for the Nintendo<\/a> Switch in 2024. The game is available in English on PC via Steam<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n

J-Novel Club<\/a> publishes<\/a> Namura Katamura<\/a>‘s manga of Punichan’s From Villainess to Healer: I Know the Cheat to Change My Fate<\/a> story, and<\/a> Punichan’s RVing My Way into Exile with My Beloved Cat light novel<\/a> series. Seven Seas Entertainment<\/a> licensed<\/a> Punichan’s Fluffy Caf\u00e9 in Another World light novel<\/a> series and manga.<\/p>\n
