\n Google has launched its virtual apparel try-on tool in the UK and India, following its successful introduction into the US market.<\/p>\n

The global giant\u2019s latest tool allows shoppers to upload a selfie and see how a chosen item of clothing looks without stepping into a changing room.<\/p>\n
The tool covers tops, bottoms, dresses, jackets and shoes, featuring across billions of product listings on Google, working via a small icon that signals when the feature is available.<\/p>\n
Google said people can upload one clear, full length image taken in good lighting to see how clothes sit on their shape.<\/p>\n
With the feature first launching in the US, Google said it has \u201chelped people judge clothing in a way that feels more personal than scrolling through static pictures\u201d.<\/p>\n
The try-on tool runs on Google\u2019s custom fashion model which reads the human body and the small details of different fabrics, including cotton, wool, denim and other materials\u2019 fold and stretch. It also reads how those fabrics sit on different bodies \u201cfrom one single uploaded photo\u201d.<\/p>\n
With Google noting \u201cpeople shop more than one billion times a day across its services\u201d and that its \u2018Shopping Graph\u2019 holds more than 50 billion product listings, the company believes the \u201csheer scale of searches makes the try-on tool useful, as shoppers often want quicker judgement on fit and style when faced with so many choices\u201d.<\/p>\n
In the US, Google said its research found that 70% of users who tried the tool said it ‘made their shopping experience fun’.\n <\/p>\n
