Bus \u00c9ireann are making changes to some of busiest bus routes in Cork city <\/a>as the service promises “punctuality improvements” from this weekend. Changes to timetables for three major services will come into effect this weekend.<\/p>\n A new timetable will come into place for three routes in as part of punctuality improvement upgrades to Bus \u00c9ireann’s Southern Region. The three routes are:<\/p>\n Route 203, Manor Farm to Parklands via St Patrick St. See the timetable here.<\/a>Route 215, Mahon Point to Cloghroe via Blarney. See the timetable here.<\/a>Route 220x, Ovens to Crosshaven. See the timetable here.<\/a><\/p>\n The alterations to the timetables, which are a result of punctuality improvements and Bus Stop changes, are effective from Sunday, December 7 2025. The 203, 215 and 220x are some of the busiest services in the city, and will only be getting busier over the Christmas season – so any sign of punctuality improvements will be very welcome for public transport users.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, commuters could see the first benefits of the ambitious Cork BusConnects plan in just a few months. New bus stops in previously unserviced areas<\/a>, including Kerry Pike and Upper Glanmire, are on tracks to be added within the next 2-3 months.<\/p>\n During this period, works will also be carried out to upgrade certain existing stops, bringing more services and short waits for direct bus routes on Leeside. These upgrades <\/a>aim to mprove services many city commuters – particularly for those on the Northside and suburbs including Glanmire and Ballincollig<\/a>. Progress is ongoing at the new bus depot in Tivoli, <\/a>which will play a crucial role in maintaining and storing a new fully electric fleet.<\/p>\n The Department of Transport is investing billions into Cork’s bus services<\/a> with plans to increase frequency on busy routes and 24-hour services to be introduced in the coming years. The first planning applications for BusConnects Cork are due to be submitted early next year<\/a>, for 24 new bus routes, 11 new sustainable transport corridors, an increase in bus services by 53%, mobile pay onboard.
