Mo Salah has launched an astonishing attack on Arne Slot and Liverpool after accusing the Premier League Champions of ‘throwing him under the bus.’<\/p>\n
The Anfield legend has cast his future into doubt and admits he could have played his last game for the club following a damning assessment of his treatment by the Reds’ head coach in the wake of being left on the bench for the third consecutive game in the 3-3 draw at Leeds.<\/p>\n
Liverpool twice surrendered the lead as Salah was left frustrated as an unused substitute at Elland Road.<\/p>\n
Talking to reporters after the game, the 33-year-old claims he has been made a scapegoat for the Champions’ shambolic title defence, and he said: “I can\u2019t believe I’m sitting on the bench for 90 minutes. I think it’s the third time I\u2019m on the bench, it’s the first time in my career.<\/p>\n
\u201cI’m very disappointed. I’ve done so much for the club, everybody can see that during the years, especially last season. To sit on the bench, I don\u2019t know why? It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus, that’s how I feel.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very clear that someone wants me to get all the blame. The club made a lot of promises to me in the summer and so far I’m on the bench for three games.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll I can say is keep the promises. I had good relations with the manager and all of a sudden we don\u2019t have any relationship.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know why. It seems to be me, how I see it, someone doesn\u2019t want me here. I will always support this club, I love the club and always will. What has happened is not acceptable. I don\u2019t know why this happened to me, I don\u2019t get it.<\/p>\n
Salah has scored 250 goals since joining Liverpool from Chelsea in 2017. He signed a new contract in April, but his fall-out with Slot has alerted super-rich clubs in Saudi Arabia and Qatar who will attempt to persuade the Egypt international to quit Anfield for a mega-money move to the Middle East.<\/p>\n
The Reds legend spoke about saying his ‘goodbyes’ when he goes on AFCON duty after Saturday’s Premier League game against Brighton, and he added: \u201cI called my mum, I said come to the Brighton game, it doesn\u2019t matter if I play or not, I’m going to enjoy it. We will see what happens.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn my head I will go to enjoy that game, if I play or not, or if I’m on the bench, I don\u2019t know what will happen. I will be at Anfield, say goodbye to the fans and go to the African Cup. I don\u2019t know what will happen when I’m there.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I am somewhere else, every club would protect the player. I don\u2019t know why I am in this situation now. I don\u2019t think I’m the problem. I’ve done so much for this club.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t have to go every day fighting for my position because I’ve earned it. I’m not bigger than the club but I earned my position.\u201d<\/p>\n
Of the match itself, Salah added:<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know what to say. It\u2019s funny but I couldn\u2019t believe it. It is a very disappointing result for us as a team.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe expect to win that. We managed to score two goals in the beginning. The game was going in our direction.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe conceded silly goals. Same as we did before while I was playing. So I am not attacking my teammates or something because I am on the bench.<\/p>\n
