Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch was spotted in a bar in Spain<\/a>, photographed with a Galway<\/a> businessman.<\/p>\n

The 62-year-old was seen in Lanzarote alongside retired Trinity Furniture owner Mike Mongan. The photos were attached to a post on the Trinity Furniture Facebook<\/a> page, reports Galway Beo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It read: “Recent visit to Lanzarote came across this gentleman Gerry the monk in Paddy’s pint pub.”<\/p>\n

Mongan announced his retirement in 2024 after more than 50 years of serving the local community.<\/p>\n

In a post on Facebook, Mike revealed the sad news: “With a heavy heart I am announcing my retirement from the business in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

“After 52 years Self-Employed and 35 years in the furniture business, I am handing the mantle on to the next generation. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my customers over the years.<\/p>\n

“The furniture business has been good to me and my family has taken me from Caherlistrane To China and all the major trade shows in Europe.<\/p>\n

“Rubbing shoulders and haggling with the biggest wholesalers in furniture from China, Malaysia and Italy.<\/p>\n

“They are just some of the countries the furniture business has brought us to with my wonderful family it would not have happened.<\/p>\n

“Especially my wonderful wife Winnie Lord rest her.”<\/p>\n
