Confluent is a data streaming firm\u2014a company that provides a platform to move data from cloud servers and data centers in real time for use by AI agents.<\/p>\n
Confluent will allow IBM to \u201cdeploy generative and agentic AI better and faster,\u201d IBM\u2019s chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna said in a statement on Monday, allowing IBM to provide a \u201csmart data platform\u201d for clients.<\/p>\n
IBM expects the deal will close by mid-2026.<\/p>\n
Confluent\u2019s stock price rose 28.4% when markets opened on Monday after the deal was announced, while IBM\u2019s rose about 1.7%.<\/p>\n
