While speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/film\/global\/nicholas-hoult-robert-eggers-clint-eastwood-justin-kurzel-1236603124\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Variety<\/a>, Hoult reflected on playing the iconic villain in Superman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s been so many wonderful actors who\u2019ve played Lex. So I feel honored to be another one, another name added to that list,\u201d Hoult said. \u201cAnd I just love what James Gunn writes, how he wants to portray that character, evolve the character going forward as well. So I feel like I\u2019m in safe hands with him, and it\u2019s a character that I really enjoy playing. It makes me happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for Man of Tomorrow, Hoult described Gunn\u2019s script as \u201cawesome.\u201d Many of the plot details remain under wraps. While <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/movies\/626646-james-gunn-confirms-man-of-tomorrow-plot-filming-start-window\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">speaking to Howard Stern<\/a>, Gunn shared what fans can expect in Man of Tomorrow. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a story about Lex Luthor and Superman having to work together to a certain degree against a much, much bigger threat,\u201d Gunn explained. \u201cAnd it\u2019s more complicated than that, but that\u2019s a big part of it. It\u2019s as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brainiac is reportedly the villain in Man of Tomorrow. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/wonder-woman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Wonder Woman<\/a> and a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/movies\/641808-man-of-tomorrow-james-gunn-debunks-rumor-regarding-dcu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">major new male character<\/a>\u201d are rumored to appear in the Superman follow-up.<\/p>\n<p>Besides Hoult, the cast of Man of Tomorrow includes <a href=\"http:\/\/superherohype.com\/tag\/David-Corenswet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">David Corenswet <\/a>as Clark Kent\/Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr.<\/p>\n<p>Gunn will write and direct the Superman sequel. It will be the fourth movie in the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/dc-universe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">DC Universe<\/a>. Filming is expected to begin in April 2026.
