A man in his 70s has died after he was struck by a car in Dublin yesterday evening.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred on the N11 in Foxrock at around 6.45pm.<\/p>\n
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Dublin City Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.<\/p>\n
No other injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
The road was closed for a technical examination and later re-opened.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing for witnesses, particularly any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) from the area between 6.30pm and 7pm to contact D\u00fan Laoghaire Garda Station on 01 666 5000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.<\/p>\n
The man was the second pedestrian killed in a road incident yesterday, and his death brings to 170 the number of people who have died on Irish roads this year.<\/p>\n
