\n\tOver the weekend, Donald Trump<\/a> dubbed<\/a> Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> a \u201chorrible\u201d host, proclaiming that he would do a better job helming the Kennedy Center Honors<\/a> on Sunday night. Kimmel was quick to fire back on the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a>, noting that there\u2019s a reason the president doesn\u2019t typically host the annual honors. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe\u2019s been boasting about hosting, saying, \u2018We\u2019ve never had a president host the Kennedy Center Honors before,\u2019 which, yeah, why do you think that is?\u201d Kimmel said. \u201cWe\u2019ve also never had Neil Patrick Harris order a military strike on a fishing boat before.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTrump was obviously very excited to headline this once prestigious event,\u201d Kimmel continued. \u201cHe even waddled the red carpet, where he was all fired up.\u201d Kimmel then played a clip of Trump telling reporters that Kimmel is one of the \u201cnot so great\u201d hosts. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat is very hurtful. I thought we were friends,\u201d Kimmel responded. \u201cI don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on. He is really fixated. I\u2019m starting to think he might have a crush on me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKimmel played a second clip in which Trump declared, \u201cI\u2019ve watched some of the people that host. Jimmy Kimmel was horrible, and some of these people, if I can\u2019t beat out Jimmy Kimmel in terms of talent, then I don\u2019t think I should be president.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAgreed,\u201d Kimmel replied. \u201cI\u2019m with you. I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve ever agreed with anything more than that. Do you think he even knows I\u2019ve never hosted the Kennedy Center Honors? Maybe he\u2019s confusing me with Queen Latifah. As far as this \u2018Who has more talent?\u2019 thing goes, it seems like he\u2019s challenging me to a contest. Which, if so, I\u2019m open to it. Let\u2019s do it. Let\u2019s have a talent competition. I\u2019ll come out, I\u2019ll tell a few jokes, I\u2019ll draw something, I\u2019ll play my clarinet. He can play golf, spank a porn star, and ruin a country.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLater, Kimmel told the audience he renewed his deal to host Jimmy Kimmel Live until May 2027, as announced <\/a>yesterday. <\/p>\n

\n\tKimmel\u2019s ABC deal was reportedly finalized over the summer \u2014 before the network\u2019s September\u00a0suspension<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live!, following a monologue in the wake of\u00a0Charlie Kirk<\/a>\u2018s murder.\u00a0That suspension, which came after heavy pressure from the Trump administration, conservative activists, and network affiliates, was billed as \u201cindefinite.\u201d\u00a0 It ended up lasting just a few days, after it prompted a ferocious backlash of its own, with consumers apparently canceling their Disney+ subscriptions\u00a0en masse<\/a>\u00a0and actors and other showbiz figures\u00a0condemning<\/a>\u00a0ABC and its parent company, Disney. <\/p>\n
