Healthcare software firm Dedalus has announced that it will create 100 new jobs over the next four years across its operations in Ireland as part of a \u20ac10m expansion.<\/p>\n
The company currently employs 50 people at its Irish headquarters in Maynooth in Kildare with staff numbers set to grow to 150 as part of this expansion. It plans to scale its presence here across software engineering, product management, clinical informatics, data and analytics, cybersecurity, and implementation services.<\/p>\n
Executive director of Dedalus Healthcare Ireland, Cathy McCartan, said the investment allows them \u201cto expand our Irish team and capabilities\u201d and help \u201cimprove outcomes for patients, strengthen system-wide decision-making, and deliver real value to the country\u201d.<\/p>\n
Recruitment for these 100 new roles will open on a phased basis over the coming four years. Opportunities will include hybrid and office-based positions in Ireland.<\/p>\n
The additional investment in Ireland was supported by IDA Ireland and announced by Taoiseach Miche\u00e1l Martin.<\/p>\n
Mr Martin said the expansion is a \u201cwelcome boost to our digital health ambitions\u201d and these new jobs will \u201csupport the delivery of better, more connected healthcare services while reinforcing Ireland as a key player in the European health technology ecosystem\u201d.<\/p>\n
Chief executive of IDA Ireland, Michael Lohan, said these \u201chighly skilled roles will contribute to innovation in patient care and strengthen Ireland\u2019s position within a dynamic European health-tech sector\u201d.<\/p>\n
Dedalus Group is headquartered in Florence in Italy and operates in over 40 countries. The company said it works with over 7,500 healthcare organisations and 5,700 labs and diagnostic centres worldwide.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In 2021, Dedalus acquired the Irish online healthcare appointment platform Swiftqueue, which now manages over four million appointments annually across Ireland\u2019s healthcare system.<\/p>\n
Dedalus has already undertaken a number of digital health initiatives in Ireland. This year the company has collaborated with healthcare partners on a range of major national initiatives.<\/p>\n
