Death in Paradise<\/a> and Beyond Paradise<\/a> stars Sally Bretton and Kris Marshall may have let slip a spoiler for the upcoming Christmas special. Sally, who plays Martha Lloyd in the BBC series, confirmed that her character plans to surprise Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) with a wedding.<\/p>\n

The couple has attempted to get married three times in the series, and after they called off their last wedding, fans were left heartbroken. However, speaking in a new interview on This Morning, Sally and Kris discussed the future of their characters.<\/p>\n

Kicking off the interview, Alison Hammond began, “It looks so lovely. It’s a Christmas special, and I think what’s so great about this show is it balances comedy and real emotion. But how does this Christmas special push Humphrey and Martha? Does it push them in a different direction? Are we going to get a wedding? What’s happening?”<\/p>\n

Kris and Sally both hesitated before Kris finally teased, “Maybe.”<\/p>\n

Ben chimed in, “I mean, how many times have you tried? three?”<\/p>\n

“Yeah, we’ve tried three, I think,” Sally replied as Kris continued, “Sally’s character, Martha, is an amazing chef and entrepreneur, and yet together, they just seem to sort of not get stuff done. They’re quirky like that.”<\/p>\n

As Ben questioned whether the wedding was actually going to go ahead, Sally let slip, “Well, she’s planning it.<\/p>\n

“She’s going to make a grand gesture for him just to celebrate that their relationship is the most important thing in their lives. , and so she just wants to grab it and throw sort of sparkle, light, and joy around it.”<\/p>\n

“But we will see,” the actress added.<\/p>\n

The Humphrey Goodman actor added, “I think she knows that if things go wrong, it’s often him. He gets in the way. So if she surprises him, there’s not a lot he can do to mess it up.”<\/p>\n

He continued, “The show is, you know, it’s not just a potential wedding, it’s three very festive mysteries and wonderful guest stars.<\/p>\n

“James Lance from Ted Lasso, and Johnny Weldon, who you saw in a clip, and Ade Edmondson, who is wonderful. And we have two very special guests. One is inside a snowman who is found sleeping in a skip.<\/p>\n

“And the other is an extremely special guest whom I cannot mention.”<\/p>\n

Ben went on to say, “There is a lovely moment because we’ve been able to see it. There’s a lovely moment when that guest turns up, and it’s a real, it’s sort of like a colliding of history, yeah, particularly for Humphrey.”<\/p>\n
