{"id":183226,"date":"2025-12-09T16:54:06","date_gmt":"2025-12-09T16:54:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/183226\/"},"modified":"2025-12-09T16:54:06","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T16:54:06","slug":"ireland-to-raise-as-much-as-e14bn-in-bonds-next-year-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/183226\/","title":{"rendered":"Ireland to raise as much as \u20ac14bn in bonds next year \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/national-treasury-management-agency\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/national-treasury-management-agency\">National Treasury Management Agency<\/a> (NTMA) said it will seek to raise as much \u20ac14 billion on the international bond markets next year, as it grapples with a spike in debt set to mature in 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The NTMA plans to issue between \u20ac10 billion and \u20ac14 billion in debt for the year ahead, the agency said in a statement. That compares to a range of \u20ac6 billion to \u20ac10 billion originally planned for 2025. The debt office ultimately raised about \u20ac8.25 billion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThe \u20ac10 billion to \u20ac14 billion bond funding range we are announcing today for 2026 reflects the \u20ac15 billion in debt maturities next year,&#8221; NTMA director of funding and debt management Dave McEvoy said. \u201dThe strong exchequer funding position means we are well positioned entering 2026\u201d. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The NTMA will issue its bond auction schedule at the start of each quarter, and will stick to its recent strategy of not selling shorter term Treasury Bills. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">It also intends to conduct at least one syndicated bond sale during the year. The agency has traditionally run such a sale in January.
