Shoppers across Kildare<\/a> raised more than \u20ac12,500 for Lidl Ireland\u2019s charity partner Family Carers Ireland, contributing to an overall total of more than \u20ac270,000 in funds raised from ticket sales of the retailer\u2019s popular festive fundraiser – Trolley Dash.<\/p>\n

The much-loved fundraising initiative received widespread support from Lidl shoppers across Ireland, with 100% of the proceeds raised supporting family carers and young carers across the country.<\/p>\n

One winner in every one of Lidl\u2019s 190 stores nationwide – including eight winners across Kildare county – completed a two-minute supermarket sweep-style dash to bag their festive feast for free this Christmas.<\/p>\n

The fundraising total of \u20ac272,060 represents a significant contribution to charity efforts, underscoring the generosity of Lidl customers. This is a substantial addition to various in-store fundraising campaigns this year.<\/p>\n

Eimear O\u2019Sullivan, Corporate Affairs Director at Lidl Ireland said: \u201cWe are absolutely delighted by the overwhelming generosity of our customers this year. The Lidl Trolley Dash is a much-loved festive tradition, and to see a total of \u20ac272,060 raised is simply incredible.<\/p>\n

\u201c100% of these crucial funds will directly support the vital work of Family Carers Ireland, making a tangible difference to carers and their families right across the country. On behalf of Lidl, I want to thank everyone who purchased a ticket and supported this essential campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Trolley Dash initiative is a cornerstone of Lidl\u2019s commitment to corporate social responsibility. Proceeds will be allocated immediately to Family Carers Ireland, enabling them to continue providing essential services, support, and advocacy for family carers in every community.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Lidl Ireland customers and colleagues raised nearly \u20ac200,000 with the inaugural Heart of Gold fundraiser which took place in June and saw Heart of Gold pins sold in Lidl stores nationwide for just \u20ac2 each, offering customers a meaningful way to show their support to the retailer\u2019s charity partner. Lidl stores also hosted spinathons where customers could donate to support the fundraiser.<\/p>\n
