HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) \u2014 If you are walking through Haywood Community College, you may notice a long steel sculpture with a message that reads, “May Peace Prevail on Earth.”<\/p>\n

The pole is one of six pieces included in the college’s new art walk.<\/p>\n

HAYWOOD COMMUNITY COLLEGE CELEBRATES 60 YEARS, UNVEILING NEW CAMPUS ART TRAIL<\/a><\/p>\n

It was designed by employee, Brek Lanning, as a dedication to the college’s 60th anniversary and the Waynesville Rotary Club’s centennial.<\/p>\n

The pole is meant to inspire unity among people from all walks of life. Its message is meant to be an affirmation of peace.<\/p>\n

The sculpture is internally lit every day from dusk until dawn, its message shining even in the dark.<\/p>\n
