Cheryl Hines expanded on why she hasn\u2019t spoken to \u201cCurb Your Enthusiasm\u201d co-star Larry David since the series finale in April 2024, saying, \u201cI think he\u2019s mad \u2026 because Bobby\u2019s in the administration.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hines was referring to her husband, Health and Human Services secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whom, ironically, David introduced to Hines more than two decades ago. David, a loud and proud liberal, made it clear during Kennedy\u2019s presidential bid that he did not support his policies. Then Kennedy joined the Trump administration, of which David has been a vocal critic. Hines, who played David\u2019s wife (and then ex-wife) Cheryl on 12 seasons of \u201cCurb Your Enthusiasm,\u201d has previously said she hasn\u2019t spoken to David in more than a year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u00a0actually think\u00a0I would be fine talking to Larry,\u201d Hines added, speaking in an interview with NewsNation<\/a>. \u201cSomebody asked me, \u2018What would happen if you walked into a restaurant and he was there?\u2019 I would be happy to see\u00a0him\u00a0and I\u2019d say hi and we\u2019d talk for a second.\u201d<\/p>\n Hines then seemed to downplay her friendship with David, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s not like Larry and I used to play pickleball and we don\u2019t\u00a0now. You know what I mean? I would really see him at work or things like that\u00a0once in a while, have lunch, but I haven\u2019t really been around in L.A. the same time he has, so I don\u2019t know. I\u2019m sure things would be fine with us. And at the same time, I\u2019m sure he\u2019s not happy about politics.\u201d<\/p>\n Kennedy, who now leads the U.S. health department, has long been a skeptic of vaccine science. Throughout his tenure, he has cut funding toward medical research and eliminated thousands of full-time jobs. He has drawn harsh criticism from other members of the Kennedy family.<\/p>\n Hines, who released the memoir \u201cUnscripted\u201d earlier this year, was also asked about whether she feels \u201cshunned\u201d from Hollywood due to her husband\u2019s political career. The actor, who also had roles in \u201cRV\u201d and \u201cBad Moms,\u201d said there are many people in the entertainment industry who have privately supported her.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are a lot of people who have been great to me, who reach out to me,\u201d she said. \u201cThey range from, \u2018Oh my gosh, this is crazy, are you OK?\u2019 to \u2018I love what your husband\u2019s doing and I\u2019m behind you guys 100%.’\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cYes,\u00a0I do have a few friends that I know are just very upset by even Bobby being in the administration. It\u2019s very upsetting to them, and I understand\u00a0that,\u00a0I respect it. I haven\u2019t had any falling outs.
