{"id":186152,"date":"2025-12-11T06:01:08","date_gmt":"2025-12-11T06:01:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/186152\/"},"modified":"2025-12-11T06:01:08","modified_gmt":"2025-12-11T06:01:08","slug":"one-ui-8-5-beta-breaks-four-major-good-lock-modules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/186152\/","title":{"rendered":"One UI 8.5 beta breaks four major Good Lock modules"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TL;DR<\/p>\n<p>Four of the best Good Lock modules aren\u2019t working properly on the One UI 8.5 beta.<br \/>\nHome Up and QuickStar refuse to open, while LockStar and NotiStar have also lost some features.<br \/>\nSamsung\u2019s Good Lock team has acknowledged the issue and is working on updates to improve the experience.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung is currently rolling out the first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/one-ui-8-5-beta-program-rollout-features-availability-eligible-devices-3623009\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">One UI 8.5 beta<\/a> update for the Galaxy S25 series in multiple countries. The new software is a glimpse of what Samsung will announce alongside the Galaxy S26 series when it launches next year, and so, the beta is a good way of experiencing the new features and refreshed UI, and getting used to them before the stable version rolls out. Unfortunately, two of the most popular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/samsung-good-lock-1079882\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Good Lock<\/a> modules are currently unusable on the One UI 8.5 beta update, with two others that have also lost some functionality.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t want to miss the best from Android Authority?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/andauth.co\/AAGooglePreferredSource\" class=\"e_Pm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\"><img class=\"e_Zg\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"google preferred source badge light@2x\"  alt=\"google preferred source badge light@2x\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/google_preferred_source_badge_light@2x.png\"\/><img class=\"e_Zg\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"google preferred source badge dark@2x\"  alt=\"google preferred source badge dark@2x\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/google_preferred_source_badge_dark@2x.png\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Android Authority contributor Zachary Kew-Dennis noticed that both the Home Up and QuickStar Good Lock modules refuse to open after installing the One UI 8.5 update. QuickStar is greyed out, with an alert saying, \u201cWe\u2019re preparing an update, please try again when you see an update available.\u201d Meanwhile, Home Up also displays an error when you try to open it, saying, \u201cThis app version is not compatible with your new operating system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"e_Zg\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"Good lock one ui 8 5 1\"  alt=\"Good lock one ui 8 5 1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Good-lock-one-ui-8-5-1.jpg\"\/><img class=\"e_Zg\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"Good lock one ui 8 5 2\"  alt=\"Good lock one ui 8 5 2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Good-lock-one-ui-8-5-2.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t the first time Good Lock modules have gone for a toss after a beta One UI update. In fact, this is a regular occurrence every time a new beta software update lands.<\/p>\n<p>Digging into Samsung\u2019s Korean community forums, we found that Home Up and QuickStar aren\u2019t the only two Good Lock modules that aren\u2019t working after the One UI 8.5 update. In fact, <a href=\"https:\/\/r1.community.samsung.com\/t5\/%EA%B0%A4%EB%9F%AD%EC%8B%9C-s\/one-ui-8-5-%EA%B5%BF%EB%9D%BD-%EC%86%8C%EC%8B%9D\/m-p\/36112251\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Samsung\u2019s Good Lock team notes<\/a> that LockStar, used for lock screen customization, and NotiStar, a notification management service, are also facing functionality issues, and some of their features may not work as expected.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung is working on updates for all of these modules.<\/p>\n<p>The good news is that Samsung is working on updates for all of these modules, so One UI 8.5 beta users may be able to use them properly again very soon.<\/p>\n<p>So if you\u2019ve already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/samsung-one-ui-8-5-beta-download-how-to-3623185\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">installed the One UI 8.5 beta<\/a>, it\u2019s worth keeping an eye out for updated Good Lock modules.
