A beloved classic TV star is asking for prayers<\/a> for his family<\/a>. On Dec. 11, actor Bill Mumy, who is best known for his role as Will Robinson on the 1960s sci-fi<\/a> series Lost in Space, posted to Instagram<\/a> to ask fans to send support for his daughter-in-law, Alexa Cline Mumy. Alexa is the wife of Mumy’s son<\/a> Seth, 36.<\/p>\n

Mumy, 71, captioned two photos of his daughter-in-law with a heartfelt request for his social media followers.<\/p>\n

\u201cFAVOR PLEASE, folks,\u201d Mumy wrote. \u201cI\u2019m asking for prayers, good thoughts and positive energy sent to my wonderful Daughter-in-Law, Alexa. She\u2019s having open heart surgery tomorrow morning<\/a>, and all your support will be very much appreciated. Thank you kindly. \u270c\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffb.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mumy received a big response from fans all over the world as they showered him with support in the comment section.<\/p>\n

\u201cSending positive thoughts and healing<\/a> prayers to Alexa \ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\udc99,\u201d one fan wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey Billy, sending prayers and good thoughts to Alexa from Australia \u2764\ufe0f\ud83d\ude4f,\u201d added another.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany prayers sent for sweet Alexa. \ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\udc9c\ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\udc9c,” a third fan wrote to the actor and musician.<\/p>\n

“Throughout your career you\u2019ve been there for your fans. Now of course we\u2019re all here for you, your family, and Alexa,\u201d another wrote<\/a> to Mumy.<\/p>\n

Legendary Olympic skater Tai Babilonia also responded to the post, writing<\/a>, \u201cPrayers up \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffd\ud83d\udcaa\ud83c\udffd.\u201d<\/p>\n

In July, Mumy posted to Instagram<\/a> to mark Alexa\u2019s wedding anniversary<\/a> with his son. \u201cHappy 9th Anniversary to Seth & Alexa Mumy! \ud83e\udd70,\u201d he captioned a photo from the couple\u2019s 2016 wedding day.<\/p>\n

He has also shared photos of the couple\u2019s young children. In 2024, Mumy posted a birthday<\/a> message to his son, which included photos of his wife, Alexa, and their kids. \u201cHappy 35th Birthday to my son, Seth Davis Mumy,” the actor wrote. “He makes me proud. Seth is a wonderful father, husband, brother, son, friend and attorney. He works hard and is truly loved. Time is a bizarre river! Seems like he was just a little boy! Onward. \ud83d\udc4d\ud83d\udc4d\ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffb\u2764\ufe0f\u201d<\/p>\n

Bill Mumy married Eileen Joy Davis in 1986. After the birth of their son Seth in 1989, they welcomed a daughter, Liliana, five years later.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Rock Cellar<\/a>, Mumy was asked to recall a significant moment in his life<\/a>, and he responded with a family memory. \u201cFor a personal moment, I\u2019ll say when my daughter Liliana was born,\u201d he shared. \u201cMy son Seth was so happy to have a sister<\/a>.”<\/p>\n
