\n\tUPDATED with full trailer: Fox<\/a> has released the official trailer for Best Medicine<\/a>, its upcoming remake of the popular British series Doc Martin<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn the extended trailer we find out Josh Charles<\/a>\u2018 Doctor Best (or Doc Martin as the townspeople insist on calling him), is trying to keep a secret from everyone in town. But it\u2019s getting harder to do so. <\/p>\n

\n\tBest Medicine premieres Tuesday, January 6, on Fox.<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tPREVIOUSLY, Nov. 3: We\u2019re getting the first look at Emmy nominee Josh Charles in Best Medicine, Fox\u2019s upcoming comedy drama, a U.S. remake of the hugely popular British series Doc Martin.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe series centers on Dr. Martin\u00a0Best\u00a0(Charles) a brilliant surgeon who abruptly leaves his illustrious career in Boston to become the general practitioner in a quaint East Coast fishing village where he spent summers as a child with his Aunt Sarah (Annie Potts). There, he will meet the eclectic townspeople, including the charming schoolteacher Louisa Gavin (Abigail Spencer), lovable Sheriff Mark Mylow (Josh Segarra) and Martin\u2019s inept but endearing assistant, Elaine Denton (Cree).\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the teaser trailer, the townspeople flock to him, greeting him as \u201cDoc Martin.\u201d \u201cDr. Best, actually,\u201d he replies. Sheriff Mark Mylow (Segarra), then welcomes \u201cDr. Best, actually\u201d to town. Spencer\u2019s Louisa confronts the slightly ornery Best, saying \u201cPart of being a doctor here is getting to know you\u2019re patients.\u201d But he says he doesn\u2019t \u201ccare about silly little festivals or gossip like everyone else in this town. I\u2019m here to work.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPer the logline: \u201cUnfortunately, Martin\u2019s blunt and borderline rude bedside manner rubs the quirky, needy locals the wrong way, and he quickly alienates the town, even though he\u2019s all they\u2019ve got. Although Martin can expertly address\u00a0any\u00a0medical ailment or mystery in this idiosyncratic town, he\u2019s really just desperate to be left the hell alone. Instead, he keeps getting dragged right smack into the middle of their personal chaos, feuds and fantasies. What the locals don\u2019t know is that Martin\u2019s terse demeanor masks a debilitating new phobia and deep-seated psychological issues that prevent him from experiencing true intimacy with anyone. But tenacity is the creed of everyone in this small village, and the people who live there may be exactly what the doctor ordered.\u201d<\/p>\n
