She\u2019s the hardest-working woman on TV, so when Alison Hammond tells us she\u2019s hoping for a \u201cchilled-out\u201d Christmas<\/a>, we almost breathe a sigh of relief on her behalf.<\/p>\n

2025 has seen her bring her bubbly charm to our screens in four huge shows: The Great British Bake Off , This Morning , Alison Hammond\u2019s Big Weekend and \u2014 alongside her son, Aiden \u2014 Alison Hammond\u2019s Florida Unpacked . No wonder the Birmingham-born presenter is ready to put her feet up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to tone it down this year, babes, I\u2019m not going to lie,\u201d she tells us. \u201cI have been killing it every single Christmas \u2014 you know, at least 12 people coming round for lunch \u2014 so I might just go out to a lovely restaurant with my beautiful son and my boyfriend, just the three of us. Then I don\u2019t have to cook\u2026 or wash up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alison, 50, has been dating masseur and model David Putman, 28, since early last year. Addressing the 22-year age gap, she has previously explained that, as David is \u201cmature and sensible\u201d and she\u2019s \u201cso not\u201d, they\u2019re extremely well-matched.<\/p>\n

\u201cThings are going really, really well,\u201d she says. \u201cHe just has the most beautiful energy and everyone feels it when they\u2019re in his presence. It\u2019s very rare. I am so grateful that he chooses to spend his life with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Alison, who shot to fame on the third series of Big Brother back in 2002, already seemed more than happy with her lot, being with David has made her feel even more blessed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a lovely feeling to be in love,\u201d she says. \u201cIt makes you more patient, it makes you kinder, because you\u2019ve always got somebody you want to care for \u2014 and they\u2019re caring for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s clear that Alison is smitten with David, so we can\u2019t help but wonder if a festive proposal might be on the cards for the star.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think this is a question you need to ask my fella, not me,\u201d she chuckles. \u201cNo, there are no plans for weddings or marriage right now, because we don\u2019t feel like we need to. We live together and we\u2019re happy the way it is. I don\u2019t need a ring to show my love to somebody.\u201d<\/p>\n

But after a brief pause, she adds, \u201cWhat I will say is, if he asked me tomorrow to marry him, it wouldn\u2019t be a \u2018no\u2019. That\u2019s all I\u2019m going to say to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

With her personal life in such great shape, talk turns to TV \u2014 and a certain high-profile job vacancy that has Alison\u2019s name written all over it. Again, the presenter pulls no punches \u2014 her eyes are clearly on the Strictly prize.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019d be silly not to go for me with the Claudia [Winkleman] role, up in the gods, talking to all the contestants. We all know that is my job,\u201d she says confidently. \u201cIf they don\u2019t go for me, that\u2019s OK. It wasn\u2019t my path. I\u2019ve had quite a lot already, so you know, I don\u2019t want to be greedy. But guys, that is my job!<\/p>\n

“You\u2019ve got to visualise it and see it \u2013 and I see it. So whoever gets that job, good luck to them. But it probably will be me.\u201d Cackling, she tells us, \u201cThat\u2019s your headline: \u2018Alison for Strictly !\u2019 Let\u2019s just put it out there.\u201d<\/p>\n

If her prediction turns out to be true, who would Alison pick to be her \u2018Tess Daly\u2019? \u201cI could get on with anyone,\u201d she says, adding that Amanda Holden<\/a>, Davina McCall<\/a> and her This Morning co-host Dermot O\u2019Leary would all fit the bill. \u201cI could do a Vernon Kay, too. Don\u2019t you worry, I could do \u2019em all.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut if I was the producers \u2014 and this is me doing myself out of a job, really \u2014 I\u2019d sign up Davina McCall and Amanda Holden.\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no doubt Alison has the Midas touch right now, but asked to share the secret to her success, she insists she\u2019s got where she is simply by being herself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe I can bring joy to people,\u201d she explains. \u201cIf you Google<\/a> \u2018Alison\u2019s best bits\u2019, they can actually take you out of a dark space. I don\u2019t take that<\/a> lightly and that\u2019s what gives me confidence \u2014 knowing that I\u2019m helping people. We need joy right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

With her knack for making others feel good, it\u2019s no wonder Specsavers chose Alison to help shine a light on their Home Visits service, which even saw her shadow one of their optometrists on her rounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want people to know that Specsavers have this amazing service \u2014 and it\u2019s literally free,\u201d Alison says. \u201cNearly half of carers say the people they look after are missing vital appointments and that just really struck me. My mum used to use a wheelchair and if I\u2019d known about this amazing service back in the day, a million percent I would have used that for my mum. Home tests make such a huge difference.\u201d<\/p>\n

As to what, or rather who, makes a difference to Alison\u2019s life, top of the list is her \u201camazing\u201d son, Aiden, 20, an aspiring music producer.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s my everything,\u201d she beams. \u201cI love the fact he actually wants to be with me now, because there was a time in his teenage years where I was the last person he wanted to be around. But he\u2019s come full circle now and wants to spend time with his mum. That\u2019s a really lovely feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alison says she still hopes to be co-hosting This Morning when she\u2019s \u201cgrey and old\u201d, but in the unlikely event it all ended tomorrow, she\u2019d take it on the chin.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere might be a day where they tell me, \u2018Alison, there\u2019s no more work for you on TV,\u2019\u201d she says. \u201cAnd you know what, if it did end tomorrow and it was my time, I\u2019ve had it all, I really have. I\u2019m so happy and grateful for everything that I\u2019ve achieved and that people have accepted me into their lives when I\u2019ve not had to change anything. I\u2019ve just had to be myself. It\u2019s a lovely feeling. Because honestly, my life so far has been wonderful.\u201d<\/p>\n
